HISTORY

 Once known as the Union of AFP Cooperatives (UAFPC), it was first organized by five cooperatives: the Philippine Army Finance Center-NHA Housing (PA-NHA), the Aguinaldo Veterans and Associate Credit Cooperatives (AVACC), the Philippine Army Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PA MPC), the Philippine Army Finance Center Multi-Purpose Cooperative (AFPFC MPC), and the Philippine Army Finance Center Producers Integrated Cooperative (PAFCPIC). Later, on September 4, 1998, it became fifteen (15) cooperatives centered in Fort Bonifacio, Camp Emilio Aguinaldo, Fort Magsaysay, and Camp Crame. On March 2, 2009, it registered with the Cooperative Development Authority, obtaining a Certificate of Registration/Confirmation No. ML-0667-F. Three years later, it was renamed the Union of Defense and Public Safety Cooperatives (UDPSC). From fifteen (15) original Cooperators mostly coming from the Philippine Army, the number has increased to its present twenty-five (25) active members.
