Originally named Union of AFP Cooperatives (UAFPC), it was organized by fifteen (15) AFP and PNP-based cooperatives in Fort Bonifacio, Camp Emilio Aguinaldo, Fort Magsaysay and Camp Crame on 04 September 1998 and registered with the Cooperative Development Authority on 02 March 2009 with Certificate of Registration/Confirmation No. MLA-0667-F. Three years later, it was renamed Union of Defense and Public Safety Cooperatives (UDPSC). From fifteen (15) original cooperators mostly coming from the Philippine Army, the number has increased to its present twenty four (24) active members.
UDPSC endeavors to provide education and training for its members, promote and advocate the general welfare and safeguard the common interest of member-primaries.
